Problem / Goal
In Autumn 2010 Skyscanner noticed an increase in smartphone-based traffic which necessitated the development of a mobile application. Our team evaluated the application draft in terms of localization and planned integration of the app’s texts with the localization system deployed at the company.
The application was created by an external company specializing in mobile apps. The project was carried out using Agile methodology. All aspects of usability, functionality, localisation, performance and integration were tested.
The application was published in February 2011 and received high ratings from users. It was also recommended by Apple and for a long time occupied the number one spot among all free iPhone apps in many countries. To this day the app remains in first place in the travel apps category in some countries. In June 2011 the second version of the app was published. After the success of the iPhone app our team participated in the testing of an analogous product for the Android system.
